Find them first
You cannot remove what you cannot see. An inspector lists every code point in the text, including zero-width spaces, joiners, direction marks and non-breaking spaces.
Text copied from a web page, a PDF or a chat app is the most likely to carry them.

Then clean it
For a short string, retyping is fastest and safest. For a longer document, most editors can find and replace a specific character by its code.
Be careful with a blanket strip. In Arabic, Hebrew and several Indic scripts, joiners and direction marks are doing real work, and removing them corrupts the text.

Prevent it next time
Paste as plain text where the option exists. Ctrl+Shift+V on Windows and Linux, Command+Shift+V on a Mac. That drops formatting, though it does not always drop hidden characters.
