Turn ordinary letters and numbers into enclosed Unicode characters for short labels and profile text.

Enclosed alphanumerics have existed since the 1990s, so circled letters render widely — but they are separate characters from the letters they imitate, which means search will not match them. Keep a plain-text version of anything that needs to be findable.

Inverted text works by substituting unrelated characters that happen to look like rotated letters, drawn from Latin extensions and IPA. The illusion depends on the reading order being reversed too, so copy the whole string rather than part of it.

Coverage is uneven by design: Unicode never encoded a superscript q or a small-capital X, so those letters fall back to their normal form. Expect a mixed-height result on some words.

This is character substitution rather than a true reflection, so letters without a mirrored counterpart stay as they are. The result is text, not an image, and it will not mirror again if pasted into a right-to-left context.

Reveal zero-width spaces, joiners and direction marks without changing the text you paste into the inspector.

Zero-width and directional format characters are legitimate typographic tools, and also the easiest thing to carry accidentally. The inspector lists every hidden code point in pasted text without altering it, which is worth doing before text goes into a password field or a published page.

Convert whole numbers from 1 to 3,999 into ordinary Latin-letter Roman numerals for broad compatibility.

Unicode encodes precomposed numerals for compatibility with older East Asian character sets. For ordinary writing the converter returns plain Latin letters, which sort, search and render far more reliably than the single-character forms.

When not to use these tools

Every tool here has a boundary. Knowing it saves you a broken profile or a rejected form.

Do not style a login or a handle

Converted letters are different characters. A username or password field will often reject them, and people cannot type them from memory.

Do not use styled text for anything searchable

A name written in cursive or Fraktur will not match a search for the same name in plain letters. Keep the searchable version in ordinary text.

Do not hide characters in text you share

The inspector exists to find invisible characters, not to plant them. Using them to dodge a filter or a length limit is what makes them a problem.

How these tools handle your text

Your input stays in the browser

The converters and inspectors run with browser-side code. Ordinary text is not submitted to a conversion account or stored as a profile.

The result is still Unicode text

Styled letters and symbols are characters, not screenshots. Fonts and apps can draw them differently, so test the final destination.

Quick checks before you publish

  • Keep a plain-text copy of important names and instructions.
  • Test the result on both a phone and a desktop device.
  • Remove hidden characters that do not serve a clear purpose.
