None of these are fonts. Every one substitutes different Unicode characters for your letters, which is why support and behaviour differ between them.

The pattern is consistent: the older and smaller the block, the more reliably it renders. Bubble letters and wide letters date from the era of legacy East Asian character sets and appear almost everywhere. Cursive and Fraktur come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, added for notation rather than decoration, and their coverage thins out on older phones. A frame is just two characters, one at each end. That simplicity is why it works, and why longer decorations fail.

Every character in a decorated line is laid out independently by whatever is displaying it. A two-character frame has two chances to be substituted by a fallback font and one place it can wrap. A twelve-character border has twelve and eleven. That ratio, not taste, is why the designs above stay short — and why the elaborate multi-line borders in text borders need a monospace setting to hold their shape.
Replacing the space between words with a mark is the cheapest way to make a line feel composed, because it adds no length to either end and cannot wrap badly. A middle dot suits a menu row, an outline heart suits a bio, and a small star suits a caption. Browse more in dot symbols and text dividers.
Five failure modes account for nearly every decorated line that arrives looking wrong. All of them are avoidable once you know to check.
A frame only reads as a frame while both halves sit on the same line. Anything longer than about 30 characters risks breaking on a phone, which leaves the opening mark stranded at the end of one line.
Repeated accents look even in the composer because it uses a consistent font. In a proportional face each mark has its own width, so a divider that looked balanced can arrive lopsided.
Styled letters are ordinary characters as far as a length counter is concerned, and several occupy two units in the counting scheme many platforms use. A 30-character name can be rejected at 20 visible letters.
Styled text does not match a search for the same word in plain letters, and a handle containing substituted characters is hard for anyone to type from memory.
A styled letter carries a formal name such as MATHEMATICAL BOLD SMALL A. Depending on the software, a decorated word is read out at length or skipped entirely.
The composer shows your line in one font at one width. Every reader sees it in a font and a width you do not control, which is why the only meaningful test happens in the destination.
Decoration and discoverability pull against each other. You do not have to choose one, but you do have to decide where each belongs.
Styled characters are not the letters they imitate. A search for your name in plain text will not match a name written in Fraktur, a mention will not resolve, and a password field will usually reject the characters outright. Assistive technology has the same problem from the other direction: a screen reader announces the character it is given, so a decorated word is either read out at its full formal name or skipped.
The workable split is to decide which text has a job. A display name, a heading and the first line of a bio generally need to be searchable, typable and readable aloud. Everything after that is free. Applied consistently, that rule keeps the visual identity you wanted and costs nothing that matters.

No. A font changes how a letter is drawn while the letter stays the same character. These styles replace the letter with a different Unicode character that happens to look styled, which is why the effect survives copy and paste and why search stops matching.
The characters will be identical; the drawing will not. Each device picks a font for each character, and where it has none it substitutes one or shows an empty box. Older devices and unusual blocks are where differences show up first.
Sometimes. Many platforms restrict handles to a narrow character set while allowing far more in a display name or bio. Where both exist, decorate the display name and leave the handle in plain letters so people can still type it.
Length limits usually count code points rather than visible letters, and several of these styles use characters that count as two. A name that looks like twelve letters can measure as twenty-four against the limit.
